I just made the yummiest milkshake ever- and it was healthy!
Typically- I don’t even try to make smoothies or milkshakes because mine never taste as good as those you buy at Smoothie King, Tropical Smoothie or Sonic. However, I found a recipe for a Chocolate Avacado Milkshake and decided to change it up a bit to be even healthier/yummier!
The original recipe can be found here: http://www.52kitchenadventures.com/2011/06/03/healthy-chocolate-avocado-milkshake/
However, I also had some bananas that are overripe sitting here and I do admit that I like to chuck some organic virgin coconut oil in everything! So here’s what I ended up doing:
1 Large Banana
1 spoon of Coconut oil ( I used a regular spoon like what you eat with- some of our measuring stuff is packed already).
1 Spoon of unsweetned cocoa powder.
1 tsp. vanilla
2 spoons of organic raw honey
1 1/2 cups of organic Whole Milk
I didn’t use any ice. I blended all of this in my blender for a couple minutes and then just poured into 2 glasses (short ones) and then we drank up! Both girls LOVED it! I think its going to be a popular new favorite- and a good way of getting more healthy stuff into their bellies without them knowing! All Kasey cared about was that this was technically a chocolate drink!
If you are vegan- you could use a milk alternative and a different sweetener. I will probably use skim milk in the future or coconut milk; however, I only had Kora’s milk on hand so I used that!
